The Safer Lincolnshire Partnership (SLP) is the single multi-agency forum for addressing community safety issues across Lincolnshire. Vital information for beauty professionals and estate agents in Lincolnshire on where  to direct clients if they disclose domestic abuse

Are you a hair and beauty professional working in Lincolnshire or an estate agent working in the county? If you are, we&#x27;re offering training on domestic abuse, giving you the tools and confidence to know what to do if you suspect a client is in trouble. 
Bit of background - In January 2017, 27-year-old Joe Storey murdered his girlfriend, Kerri McAuley at her Norwich flat. He was jailed for life. When the 32-year-old feared for her safety, it was her hairdresser she confided in. The appointment, three weeks before Kerri’s death, was one that hairdresser Annie Reilly remembers with total clarity.
“She turned around and said to me, ‘I know he’s going to kill me’,” Reilly told the BBC, “They were words I never thought I’d hear any of my clients say.”https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-47386104
We work with survivors of abuse and sometimes they tell us that the only place they are allowed to go alone is to the hairdressers or to get their nails done. We also hear stories of how estate agents and locksmiths have been called late at night to change the locks or to break into a safe to get passports out etc.
A number of hair professionals have also been in touch to find out what they should do when people tell them their experiences.
We hope by holding an event, people can come along - get the information they need so they can better protect their clients. Are you a hair and beauty professional working in Lincolnshire or an estate agent working in the county?
