Continuing in the series of guest webinars hosted by Better Breastfeeding to support the development of local breastfeeding and infant feeding strategies, we hear from infant feeding specialist Shel Banks, who has considerable experience in supporting families who are bottle feeding. Shel will talk us through the following questions: <ul><li>Why should a local infant feeding strategy refer to bottle feeding?</li><li>How can we ensure that parents who are bottle feeding get the support they need?</li><li>What actions should we expect to see in a local strategy?</li><li>How can each part of the Integrated Care System make sure that it's offering the support needed?</li></ul> Who this webinar is for<ul><li>Community and hospital-based infant feeding leads</li><li>Family Hubs and Start for Life programme managers</li><li>LA public health managers</li><li>health visiting managers</li><li>lactation consultants</li><li>anyone with an interest in supporting families with baby feeding</li></ul> PresenterShel Banks, IBCLCShel is an infant feeding lead in the NHS and in 2023 she took a sabbatical to work on co-developing an infant feeding strategy for Lancashire &amp; South Cumbria Integrated Care System.Shel is author of the book Why Infant Formula Matters, published in 2022 by Pinter &amp; Martin, and has contributed chapters to several books about infant feeding. She has been involved in 3 Cochrane systematic reviews on infantile colic, and helped develop 3 NICE guidelines relating to infant feeding.In addition, Shel is Clinical Director for the mobile app Anya, working to support improved pregnancy, parenting and infant feeding outcomes for families everywhere. She also has a small private lactation consultancy practice supporting families locally and across the world via videocall.Alongside this Shel is currently undertaking her doctoral study on supporting parents of unsettled babies with colic, reflux and allergy.
