Identifying the needs of a child early is vital to ensuring that the right support is in place as soon as possible. But when you don't know what you should be looking out for or are being met with conflicting information, it can be really overwhelming as a parent or carer. In this webinar, hosted by Sunshine Support Advocate and former teacher Gabby Gregory, we will be empowering you to understand what to look our for when identifying additional needs, what help is available to you and how to get your child the support they need from an early age. <h3>What you will learn:</h3> <ul><li>The “typical” child development and when most children develop core communication and interaction skills.</li></ul><ul><li>When you might be concerned about your child’s development and who you can reach out to for advice and support.</li></ul><ul><li>The diagnostic criteria for ADHD and Autism and how this may present in younger children.</li></ul><ul><li>Strategies for early intervention and support, giving you practical examples which you can incorporate into home/school/nursery.</li></ul><ul><li>An introduction to the main forms of funding which are typically available within England to support early years children with additional needs.</li></ul><ul><li>Outline what your early years provider should be doing to meet your child’s needs and how you can work in partnership to achieve the best outcome for your child.</li></ul><ul><li>A brief introduction to the process of requesting an EHCP and to consider the evidence you might want to be gathering in anticipation.</li></ul> As a SEND parent, you will become an expert in supporting your child and advocating for their needs. For those of you with young children, this webinar is a fantastic place to start in boosting your knowledge and confidence.
