The MinSouth branch of the YPLC is hosting a competition for three mineral industry professionals. The event will take place at the Royal School of Mines in London, England, but you can also join online via GoToMeeting. The contestants will give fifteen minutes presentations on their topics and a panel of judges appointed by MinSouth will select the winner. After the competition, you can enjoy beer and pizza at the Royal School of Mines and mingle with MinSouth members, students, presenters and their supporters.

The three competitors along with the topics they will present: <ul><li>Alex Vickers (Oxford University), 'Natural Hydrogen: A new frontier?'</li><li>Erin Thompson (University of Leicester), 'The magmatic controls on Ni-Cu-PGE mineralisation in the Platreef, northern limb of the Bushveld Complex, South Africa'</li><li>Vanda Karpati (Imperial College), 'Evaluating Europe's Mining Renaissance'</li></ul>The abstracts for the presentations can be accessed on the MinSouth webpage <a href="https://minsouth.org.uk/event/young-persons-lecture-competition-minsouth-branch/" title="https://minsouth.org.uk/event/young-persons-lecture-competition-minsouth-branch/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">HERE</a>
