A not-for-profit organisation formed in 2018 to encourage community interaction in and around Wells.Our work is multi-faceted and ambitious - on the one hand, Project Factory listens; it starts conversations; it builds partnerships; it grows networks; it encourages collaboration; it communicates - on the other, it delivers informal education opportunities to grow confidence and develop skills; it holds forums and conferences to build consensus; it holds community events to inspire and create joy. It responds to the emerging ideas and ‘seeds’ and works to help organisations and individuals develop their own projects.Project Factory believes in the value of listening and curiosity, the power of experiential learning, the importance of story, the potential that lies in unique skills and gifts inherent in each member of the community - which is evoked through connection, collaboration, communication and celebration.

Make a willow and paper lantern to take part in the Wake Up Wells Lantern Parade 2020

Somerset Skills & Learning (SS&L)

Make your own lantern so that you can take part in the Wake Up Wells Lantern Procession on Saturday 25 January 2020.Use your creative flair on your own or with your family or a group to make a stunning lantern out of tissue paper and willow. Materials provided (but please bring or buy battery operated lights to light up your lantern). If you have secateurs, they would be useful too.Tickets for lantern making are free and will include the material for one lantern making kit. You may be asked to pay for extra materials if you want to make a large lantern. All donations towards the cost of this event will be gratefully received. Thank you.These workshops are suitable for all.  Children under 7 will need help and should be accompanied by one adult per child.If you are taking part or coming to watch, the Lantern Procession will leave the Bishop&#x27;s Barn in Wells Recreation Ground on Saturday 25 January at 5.30 pm and take in the moat walk, Bishop&#x27;s Palace, Bishop&#x27;s Eye, Penniless Porch, Cathedral Green. We will be led by the Bath Samba band, <a href="https://www.jammadesamba.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jamma de Samba</a> Stay for a hot chocolate afterwards or to really warm you up, book advance tickets to our Family Ceilidh, featuring Antler Ceilidh band, and a Burns Night supper of Haggis, neeps and tatties at which starts at 7pm at Cedars Hall.
