Disabled women must be heard and this fantastic supportive workshop will give you skills to try creating a short monologue in your own voice

We are creating sp@ce for disabled women-identifying and non-binary people to come together to explore the skills in monologue writing. It aims to be a fun session with writing warm-ups, quick-fire free writing, and word hoards, all developing towards writing a short monologue in your own unique voice.The first workshop is on Friday, 8 March, 2.00-4.00 pm GMT so what a wonderful way to celebrate International Women's Day.This is a series of four identical workshops, so if you just have time for one of them, that's absolutely fine. If people do book for more than one, we'll make sure to vary the writing exercises, and you can continue your monologue or create a brand new one.It's rewarding for everyone attending to hear each other's work, but if that isn't you, please don't worry; it's not compulsory.We'd love to give you writing credits by publishing the monologues on our website and promoting them on social media. Again, though, this is your choice! Access - When booking your place, please advise us of any access requirements and also any subjects you'd like us to avoid. We hope that people will take the workshop at the level it's delivered at and protect themselves from digging too deeply into emotional subject areas. We'll draw our material from the writing exercises and focus on confidence in writing and skill development. The environment will be supportive and encouraging and will celebrate disabled women coming together to be creative. Also - if you're interested in attending but just want to take part without speaking, that is also fine. No one is excluded on that basis, just let us know.Cancelling - we know plans change. As places are limited, if you do need to cancel, please let us know so that someone else can take the place. Thank you.Zoom - we'll ensure you have a Zoom link the day before the workshop.
