This spring we're bringing back our popular Open House Festival tours led by ALISON RAE from Lambeth Tour Guides Association, exploring South Bank's lost and hidden architecture.MEETING POINT: Meet at St Mary's Garden in front of the Garden Museum where our guide Alison Rae will be waiting for you! From the sites of old breweries and wharfs, hospitals, churches and theatres, this walk goes beyond South Bank's world-famous landmarks to reveal lost and hidden spaces that tell stories of the past and present and that also look forward to the future!North Lambeth and the area leading to the South Bank was historically low-lying, marshy and liable to flooding and only a few Medieval buildings survive. The area changed with the arrival of the railways. Tracks were elevated over the marshes connecting to the new Waterloo Station and during construction old churches, houses and places of entertainment were lost. However, in the 20th and 21st centuries these spaces were reborn and revealed again with new purposes.Join us as we walk through South Bank's lesser-known corners in search of remnants of the past, and the contemporary spaces that now tell a new story about London's changing architectural vision. * * The walk lasts 2.5 hours and is relatively flat with some steps.*** Part two of the Lost &amp; Hidden Architecture tour takes place on Friday 12 April
