What is the BFI NETWORK Short Film Fund?

Supporting emerging talent across the UK, the Short Film Fund allocates National Lottery funds to short films up to 15 minutes. The funds can range from £5k - £25k and are open to filmmakers across England.

The event is open to Writers and Directors in the Midlands and Producers from anywhere in the UK.

While the event is primarily targeted at those looking to apply to the short film fund, we always encourage networking at any stage in your filmmaking career.

Can you help me find a Producer/Writer/Director for my project?

Accepted Answer

While we don't offer matchmaking for projects, we will be holding a number of networking events over the next few months that will help to enable you to meet filmmakers in the region.

What happens at the event?

Accepted Answer

After a short introduction we will be splitting filmmakers into rotating breakout rooms for approx 15 mins each, the aim is for us to help you make initial contacts with other filmmakers but not deeper conversations at this stage and encourage you to swap details to pick up conversations afterwards.
