Designed for frontline staff &amp; volunteers, active in local VCOs, looking to develop &amp; enrich their awareness of learning disabilities

Kate Stonehouse is a qualified learning and development professional, with many years of experience managing and delivering learning in the public and third sector.Kate draws on her experience as a practitioner and manager in, and of, teams delivering advice, information and support to people with learning disabilities, and as a parent to three young people, one of whom has a learning disability. That experience ensures that the learning is based on real, current and relevant situations and people, with a strong influence on informing practice in services and workplaces of learners.This training session will explore:<ul><li>What is learning disability?</li><li>What does the law say about supporting people with learning disabilities?</li><li>What does the local picture look like for people with learning disabilities?</li><li>Common errors and misconceptions, and good practice.</li><li>How can I make the service I give as accessible as possible to people with learning disabilities?</li></ul>NB: a second session, PART 2, will be held on 18.11.24 10am-1pm at The Museum of English Rural Life (RG1 5EX). <a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/862931991817?aff=oddtdtcreator" title="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/862931991817?aff=oddtdtcreator">Please click</a> here for details and the booking link.
