By sharing positive stories and organising inclusive events like the LimbPower Games Multisport Event, or solo activities, we aim to break stereotypes, foster inclusivity, and inspire others to embrace an active lifestyle regardless of their physical abilities. Join us as we celebrate the resilience and strength of the limb difference community, and together, let's move beyond limits!"About Us: LimbPower is the leading charity dedicated to supporting amputees and individuals with limb differences. Our mission is to bridge the gap between hospital rehabilitation and community engagement, enhancing physical, social, and mental well-being. We offer targeted programmes, including advocacy, events, and workshops, to rebuild lives and empower individuals. April marks Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and share positive stories about the impact of engaging in physical activity. LimbPower's LimbLife Campaign aims to showcase the transformative power of movement for individuals with limb differences. By participating in our LimbWalk, LimbScoot, LimbPush, LimbSwim, and LimbCycle challenge during the easer holidays. You'll not only celebrate inclusivity and diversity but also support our mission to empower more people to embrace an active lifestyle.Join us and take part for FREE or fundraise as you rack up the miles and challenge yourself. Help us help other people with limb differences by donating now to make a difference!"How Funds Will Be Utilised: The funds raised through our LimbLife Campaign will be used to support our work to bridge the gap between leaving the limb centre and engaging in community activity aimed at enhancing the lives of amputees and individuals with limb differences. All of our programmes are designed to meet the needs of community members to engage them in activity at different entry points on their rehabilitation journey to improve their physical, social, and mental health. These initiatives include our: Your contribution will directly impact the limb difference community, empowering them to lead active and fulfilling lives.LimbWalk: Step out and take a walk, whether it's in your neighbourhood, school, park, or community, and challenge yourself to rack up the miles for a good cause.Personal Story: Rebecca Legon/Chris Linnitt or Kiera RocheLimbScoot: Glide through your surroundings on a scooter, embracing the freedom of movement and challenging yourself to scoot for a purpose.Personal Story: Poli Patterson/LimbPush: Roll into action by participating in wheelchair sports challenges, showcasing your athleticism and determination from the comfort of your surroundings.LimbSwim: Dive into the challenge of swimming, whether it's in a pool or open water, and demonstrate the adaptability and strength of individuals with limb differences.LimbCycle: Pedal your way to success by joining cycling events or challenges, experiencing the joy of riding while supporting individuals with limb loss or limb differences. How to Register and Participate:Registration Process: Beneficiaries can register for the LimbLife Campaign through Eventbrite or by contacting LimbPower directly via email at emma@limbpower.com.Two registration options are available:Option A: Pay a registration fee of £15 to join the campaign.Option B: Register for free and commit to fundraising for LimbPower, with a fundraising target of £50 each.Timeline: Participants can sign up at any time between now and the end of April. Challenges can be completed as daily, one-day, or one-week challenges, as long as they are undertaken during the month of April.Eligibility: To participate in LimbWalk, LimbScoot, LimbPush, LimbSwim, and LimbCycle challenges, beneficiaries need to be medically fit. Individuals unsure of their eligibility should consult their GP or limb center rehabilitation consultant.Registration Channels: Beneficiaries can sign up on Eventbrite or contact LimbPower directly via email at emma@limbpower.com for adults and carly@limbpower.com for families.Fundraising: Participants can fundraise as little or as much as they want, either individually or as part of a team. LimbPower offers support and guidance on fundraising efforts upon request.Team Support: Team members can join LimbPower's WhatsApp Group to provide mutual support and receive assistance from the team. LimbPower can also provide sponsorship forms or training ideas upon request.Registration Options: Beneficiaries can register as individuals, in pairs, as a family, or in groups of friends, teammates, or colleagues.Age Considerations: While anyone can join in, participants are advised to be mindful of their limitations, especially young children. National governing bodies of sports provide information on age-appropriate activities, and individuals should prioritise their health and safety.Stay Informed: Join the WhatsApp group to stay updated on the latest information, news, and announcements regarding the LimbLife Campaign and its associated challenges.
