We will concentrate on the National Gallery's paintings by Piero della Francesca - notably the 'Baptism of Christ'

<p>The National Gallery is lucky enough to own three paintings by the Renaissance master Piero della Francesca, and although one, the St Michael, is currently on view in Milan, reunited with other panels from the same altarpiece, both 'The Baptism of Christ' and 'The Nativity' are masterpieces which deserve serious attention.</p><p>As it happens neither was created for the Court of Federigo da Montefeltro in Urbino, where Piero created some of his most refined works, but this is the perfect opportunity to discover two little known masterpieces in the Gallery's collection which were: the representations of 'Justice' and 'Music' by Justus of Ghent. Given time, we might even get to see the work of one of the great genius's of the renaissance who was born in Urbino - but perhaps it would be better to leave him for a future date!</p>
