Reflecting on the challenges and achievements of various approaches and data gathering methods over two years, Katrina Foxton teases out the lessons learned and offers areas for further development toward this venture.

Introduction

Arran is a researcher and museum practitioner who uses action-focused and collaborative research methodologies. His research interests intersect between museum collections management, digital and contemporary collecting practices, and alternative models for ownerships and sharing of cultural heritage. Before joining the University of Leeds, Arran worked at the V&A and the Museum of Cardiff.

Action research, complexity, and the Congruence Engine project

Dr Katrina Foxton is an Engagement Project Officer for MOLA and a Research Associate on the Unpath’d Waters project, specifically delivering on Work Package Five which focuses on Values, Audience Mapping and Evaluation. She gained her doctoral research from University of York which focused on tracking values within the practices of community groups and council practitioners.
