Българският културен институт Лондон има удоволствието да Ви покани на „Литературна вечер – представяне на творчеството на Кристин Димитрова“ на 30 януари 2020 г. в „Галерия София“ от 19 часа.

Кристин Димитрова, родена през 1963 г. в София, е поет, писател и преводач. Завършва английска филология в СУ “Св. Климент Охридски”, където сега е главен асистент в катедра “Западни езици” и преподава английски език в катедра „Международни отношения”. През периода 2004-2006 г. е редактор в седмичната притурка за изкуство и култура на в. “Труд” – “Арт Труд”. През 2007-2008 е колумнист във в. “Класа”. Доктор по обществени комуникации и информационни науки. Изнасяла е авторски литературни четения в Ню Йорк, Чикаго, Париж, Хага, Берлин, Корк, Щутгарт, Бърно, Прага, Скопие, Барселона, Брюксел, Люксембург и др.
Автор на дванадесет книги с поезия, сред които „Тринадесетото дете на Яков” (1992), „Образ под леда” (1997), „Поправка на талисмани” (2001), “Градината на очакванията и отсрещната врата” (2012), “A Visit to the Clockmaker” (2005, Ирландия), “My Life in Squares” (2010, Великобритания). “Сутринта на картоиграча” (2008; 2013, Чехия). Най-новата й стихосбирка е „Уважаеми пътници” (2018).
Белетристичните й книги включват романа “Сабазий” (2007; 2012, Беларус; 2013, Румъния), сборниците с разкази “Любов и смърт под кривите круши” (2004), “Тайният път на мастилото” (2011; 2013, Македония), „Като пристигнеш, обади се” (2017) и др.
Превела е от английски “Анаграмата” (1999): стихове от Джон Дън; “На лов за Снарк” (2013), поема от Луис Карол и др.
Стихове, разкази, статии и книги на Кристин Димитрова са преведени на немски, английски, арменски, руски, иврит, арабски, исландски, каталонски, италиански, френски, китайски, литовски, македонски, испански, полски, румънски, словенски, словашки, сръбски, турски, унгарски, холандски, хърватски, чешки, шведски, гръцки, персийски и публикувани в антологии и литературни издания в Австрия, Англия, Армения, Беларус, Белгия, Босна и Херцеговина, Германия, Гърция, Израел, Ирландия, Исландия, Италия, Йордания, Канада, Каталония (Испания), Китай, Колумбия, Литва, Македония, Мексико, Нова Зеландия, Полша, Румъния, Русия, САЩ, Словения, Словакия, Сърбия, Турция, Унгария, Франция, Холандия, Хърватия, Чехия, Чили и Швеция.

Special guest: Kristin Dimitrova
Kristin Dimitrova (born May 1963 in Sofia, Bulgaria) is a poet, writer and translator. Graduated in English and American Studies from the Sofia University, Dimitrova now teaches at the Department of Foreign Languages there. In the period 2004-2006 she was an editor of Art Trud, the weekly supplement for arts and culture of the Trud Daily, and in 2007 she was a columnist for the Klasa Daily. Dimitrova holds a Doctoral Degree in journalism and mass communications. She has participated into numerous author readings in New York, Chicago, Paris, Hague, Berlin, Cork, Stuttgard, Brno, Prague, Skopje, Barcelona, Brussels, Luxembourg and other.
She is the author of 12 books of poetry among which are: Jacob’s Thirteenth Child (1992), A Face Under the Ice (1997), Closed Figures (1998), Faces with Twisted Tongues (1998), Talisman Repairs (2001), The People with the Lanterns (2003), The Cardplayer’s Morning (2008, translated into Czech), The Garden of Expectations and the Opposite Door (2012) and Dear Passengers (2018). A Visit to the Clockmaker (2005) was published by Southword Editions, Ireland, and My Life in Squares (2010) by Smokestack Books, UK.
Among her works of fiction are the novel Sabazius (2007, translated and published in Mexico, Russia and Romania) and three short stories collections: Love and Death under the Crooked Pear Trees (2004), The Secret Way of the Ink (2010, translated into Macedonian) and Give Me a Call When You Arrive (2017).
She has translated into English The Anagram (1999), selected poetry by John Donne and The Hunting of the Snark (2013) among others.
Poems, stories and literary proceedings of Kristin Dimitrova has been translated into German, English, Armenian, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, Icelandic, Catalan, Italian, French, Chinese, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Spanish, Polish, Romanian, Slovenian, Slovakian, Serbian, Turkish, Hungarian, Dutch, Croatian, Czech, Swedish, Greek, Persian languages and published in anthologies and literary journals in Austria, UK, Armenia, Belourussia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Greece, Israel, Iceland, Italy, Jordan, Canada, China, Macedonia, Mexico, New Zealand, Croatia, Czech republic and many others.
Dimitrova is a winner of many awards for poetry among which are (the last one being the biannual “Ivan Peychev” 2019 for Dear Passengers), four for fiction (“Peroto” 2018 for Give Me a Call When You Arrive is the most recent one) and two for special achievement in poetry translation (for The Anagram, selected poetry by John Donne and The Hunting of the Snark by Lewis Carroll).
