Exploring the links between mathematics, programming and textiles, this session uses geometry and measurement to develop programs that create patterns, and those patterns can then be stitched using a digital embroidery machine. The session is a fun and creative introduction to programming, using TurtleStitch (www.turtlestitch.org), and an exploration of the role of software in industry, business and arts. TurtleStitch is free, easy to use, and generates patterns that can be stitched by embroidery machines, enabling the creation of physical things from code.This workshop is strictly for ages 9–11 only. Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
