Carer Champion Workshop (online): Being a 'New Carer' Champion

Join this workshop to find out how you could become a carer champion for carers who are new to PSS Shared Lives

Our Shared Lives carer champions have been working hard behind the scenes with our volunteer coordinator, Abi Reese, to create a new volunteer role that will make a difference to you as a Shared Lives carer. We've decided on six key areas where we think our carer champions can have the most impact.As carer champion you'll be part of a team that work across all of our Shared Lives services (that's Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Norfolk, Suffolk, North Yorkshire, Staffordshire and Lincolnshire). You'll help other carers learn and improve on their skills, you'll share best practice and make carers feel part of a team. Join this session to learn more about being a 'new carer' champion. For this role you'll:<ul><li>Contact new carers as they are approved and give them a lovely, warm welcome to the service</li><li>Answer any questions the new carers might have</li><li>Have quarterly welcome sessions with new carers who are coming through the recruitment process.</li><li>Encourage new carers to play a part in carer meetings, events and get togethers</li></ul>
