Event InformationDespite many arguments to increase the representation of women in academic leadership in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM), progress continues to be slow. This conversation between Prof Janet Hering and Dr Kelly Blacklock will explore the systemic barriers to women’s advancement and how these can be overcome. She has also been very engaged in promoting diversity in academia, particularly in supporting women in academic leadership.<a href="https://www.ed.ac.uk/profile/kblacklock" title="https://www.ed.ac.uk/profile/kblacklock" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dr Kelly Blacklock</a> is a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Surgery at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, and a Research Fellow at the Patton Lab in the Institute of Genetics and Cancer, where she studies metastasis of canine oral melanoma. She has supervised research on the underrepresentation of Women in Veterinary Medicine.RegistrationTo register for the event, please click the ‘register’ link at the top of this page.
