Here you will find all our volunteering events for young people aged 16-25

Are you aged 16-25 and want to make a difference for nature and the environment?Join us in the South Downs National Park for an action day coppicing small trees in Church Copse to promote the habitat of amazing wildlife like dormice and fritillary butterflies.This is a great opportunity if you&#x27;re interested in:<ul><li>Conserving woodland wildlife like dormice, butterflies and wildflowers</li><li>Woodland management</li><li>Traditional crafts such as coppicing or carving</li><li>Getting some exercise in a beautiful setting!</li></ul>A full plan of activities will be sent after registering. What you&#x27;ll need: <ul><li>Packed lunch or snack </li><li>Drinking water </li><li>A passion for the environment! </li></ul>What to wear:<ul><li>Sturdy footwear (wellies or walking boots are great!)</li><li>Trousers and long-sleeve tops to protect your arms and legs from the elements</li><li>Waterproof coat</li><li>Backpack to carry food, water and any other things you need</li></ul>Where to meet: You have two choices!<ul><li>10:30am: Meet at Worthing Railway Station for a lift in a South Downs National Park vehicle</li></ul><ul><li>11:00am: <a href="https://goo.gl/maps/ndgEn2hLTFYFSKVb7" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Meet at Church Copse car park</a></li></ul>Public transport: <a href="https://www.southernrailway.com/destinations-and-offers/where-we-travel-to/worthing" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Trains to Worthing</a>Cost: it&#x27;s free, this is volunteering!Expenses: we can reimburse reasonable travel expenses (no long-haul flights!)#iwill4nature #southdowns <h3>FAQs</h3>Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?Yes: 16-25 only for participants!What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?Please see above and select the right ticket option.How can I contact the organiser with any questions?Please email Daniel.Greenwood@southdowns.gov.uk or call 01730 819263Do I have to bring a ticket to the event?If you can, either printed or on your phone is fine!
