Strathclyde Business School (SBS) was founded in 1948 and is a pioneering, internationally renowned academic organisation with a reputation for research excellence. One of four faculties forming the University of Strathclyde, SBS is a triple accredited business school (AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB) and was the first business school in Scotland to achieve this accolade in 2004. The Business School is home to seven subject departments and a number of specialist centres, all of which collaborate to provide a dynamic, fully-rounded and varied programme of specialist and cross-disciplinary courses.

<h3><strong><strong>Juliane Thamm</strong></strong></h3><p>Juliane has been a teaching fellow in finance since 2012. She became MSc Finance course director in 2018, focus is on creating an excellent learning experience for our students. Additionally, she has been nominated for the Teaching Excellence Awards in 2011, 2014, 2015, shortlisted in 2018 and nominated again in 2019. Juliane's main interests are in behavioural finance and international financial markets and she is a member of the European Finance Association (EFA) and a Higher Education Academy Fellow (FHEA).</p><h3><strong><strong>James Bowden</strong></strong></h3><p>James joined Strathclyde Business School in February 2019 as a Lecturer in Financial Technology, having recently completed a PhD in Accounting and Finance at the University of Dundee. His doctorate research investigated relationships between online financial message board postings and abnormal trading activity in shares listed on the London Stock Exchange AIM. He holds an MSc in Investment Analysis (University of Stirling), and a BA (Hons) in International Business (Nottingham Trent University).</p><h3><strong><strong>Dr Livia Pancotto</strong></strong></h3><p>Livia joined the University of Strathclyde as a Lecturer in Banking in March 2018. She holds Bachelor and Master’s degrees, both in Banking and Finance, from Sapienza University of Rome. She also holds a Master’s degree in the same field from Bangor University. Her research interests cover the areas of banking regulation, international banking, financial stability &amp; systemic risk, financial markets &amp; intermediaries and credit derivatives.</p><h3><strong><strong>Professor Dimitris Andriosopoulos</strong></strong></h3><p>Dimitris is a Professor in Finance, Academic Director for MSc Sustainable Finance and Founding Director of the <a href="https://www.strath.ac.uk/business/accountingfinance/rebi/" title="https://www.strath.ac.uk/business/accountingfinance/rebi/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Responsible Business Institute (ReBI)</a> at the University of Strathclyde. Dimitris has extensive experience in various roles such as consulting and R&D. He served as academic advisor for the <a href="https://www.gov.scot/groups/investor-panel/" title="https://www.gov.scot/groups/investor-panel/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Scottish Government's Investor Panel</a> with the remit to advise on how Scotland can attract global capital investment in the infrastructure required to transition to net zero. Dimitris was also a member of the <em><em>Research Panel </em></em>of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) which has more than 21,000 Chartered Accountants as members worldwide.</p><h3><strong><strong>Dr Grant Allan</strong></strong></h3><p>Grant Allan is a Reader in the Department of Economics. He joined the University in 2002, initially as a Research Assistant in the Fraser of Allander Institute. Grant's research interests in applied multisectoral economic analysis and modelling, particularly in the areas of environment, energy and tourism. He is Academic Director of MSc in Economics and Finance.</p><h3><strong><strong>Dr Pratima Sambajee</strong></strong></h3><p>Dr Sambajee is a lecturer in International Management. She teaches subjects that pertain to cross-cultural management, work and migration in the global economy. Pratima joined the University of Strathclyde after graduating from the University of Sunderland with a PhD in Culture. Dr Sambajee is the Academic Director for Management and Finance.</p><h3><strong><strong>Iain Peers</strong></strong></h3><p>Academic Director of our Accounting and Finance  programme.</p>
