The University of Strathclyde Mediation Clinic makes a unique contribution to the postgraduate programme in Mediation and Conflict Resolution. Founded in 2011 to provide real-world opportunities for students to practice their skills, the Mediation Clinic has grown to play a central role in Scotland's justice system. Now delivered almost entirely online, the Mediation Clinic provides a free mediation service for small claimants in the majority of Scotland's courts, helping fulfil the university's ambition to be the 'place of useful learning.' The session will explain how the Clinic operates and set out the opportunities it provides for students to observe and practise mediation in real cases during, and after, their degree.
