Strathclyde Business School (SBS) was founded in 1948 and is a pioneering, internationally renowned academic organisation with a reputation for research excellence. One of four faculties forming the University of Strathclyde, SBS is a triple accredited business school (AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB) and was the first business school in Scotland to achieve this accolade in 2004. The Business School is home to seven subject departments and a number of specialist centres, all of which collaborate to provide a dynamic, fully-rounded and varied programme of specialist and cross-disciplinary courses.

Our one year Human Resource Management Masters programmes are suitable for those wishing to develop their careers in a wide range of sectors. <h2>Professor Dennis Nickson</h2>Professor Dennis Nickson joined the University in 1996 and is currently Professor in Service Work and Employment. He has held a variety of positions within the Department, including co-directing the Scottish Centre for Employment Research (SCER) and Head of Department.Dennis primary research interests centre on work and employment issues in interactive service work, with a particular concentration on the retail and hospitality industries. More specifically, he has extensively researched labour market, skills, employability and human resource issues in entry-level work in these industries. He is one of the team who originated and developed the concept of aesthetic labour. <h2>Dr Joanna Butler</h2>A Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Joanna's interests cut across areas of work and organisational psychology, specifically, human resource development in public sector organisations. As a practitioner psychologist and academic, her research and KE focus is two-fold: the design of employability and education services for a variety of learners and the people strategy that underlines the effective delivery of those services. She introduced and lead Scotland's only British Psychology Society accredited MSc Occupational Psychology.
