Under the surface of the sea lies a world that we call the benthic layer. This weird and wonderful environment is teeming with life forms and organisms that scientists from the <a href="https://www.exeter.ac.uk/" title="https://www.exeter.ac.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">University of Exeter</a> spend their time exploring.Join the <a href="https://convexseascapesurvey.com/" title="https://convexseascapesurvey.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Convex Seascape Survey</a> at the <a href="https://www.fishfactoryarts.space/whats-on" title="https://www.fishfactoryarts.space/whats-on" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">SeaBed exhibition</a> to get your hands dirty and play around in the mud which is full of sea life, whilst exploring the relationship between marine fauna and carbon.SeaBed artist <a href="https://naomi-hart.com/work/seabed/" title="https://naomi-hart.com/work/seabed/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Naomi Hart</a> will lead this free workshop for children as part of an exhibition of work celebrating the creatures that live in the mud at the bottom of the sea.Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. We will provide aprons but please wear clothes you don't mind getting messy as we will be using clay.The SeaBed project, part of <a href="https://news.exeter.gov.uk/new-community-artwork-goes-on-display-in-exeter/" title="https://news.exeter.gov.uk/new-community-artwork-goes-on-display-in-exeter/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Exeter’s Window Arts</a>, was commissioned as part of Exeter’s Cultural Compact funded by Arts Council England and led by the Arts &amp; Events Team at Exeter City Council, working with Liveable Exeter and Exeter Culture.The SeaBed exhibtion runs from 11th-20th June with an opening event on Tuesday 11th from 6-9pm. Join us at The Fish Factory to enjoy a bioturbated cocktail and a chance to meet the artist and see her artwork.
