She was raised in Columbus, Ohio and now resides in Los Angeles. Her editing credits include the critically acclaimed “Station Eleven”; the comedy “Grace and Frankie”; the drama “Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.”; amongst many others. She has also worked extensively in documentary and feature films.She completed her MFA at the prestigious American Film Institute Conservatory. Tuovinen’s zeal for the craft of film editing is matched only by her passion for telling diverse stories and supporting unique voices in the world of film and television.

During that time he had an internship at New Line Cinema in their post-production department that led to a part time job in their dub room, and eventually to a post production assistant job on the film “Blow.”Having apprenticed and assisted some of the finest editors in town on films such as “About Schmidt,” “Sideways,” “Crazy, Stupid Love,” and “Wild,” Herman got his big editing break on the limited series “Big Little Lies” and was subsequently nominated for his first Emmy and ACE Award. He has been fortunate enough to continue working on award winning television since his initial debut, and was honored to work on other award-winning series such as “Sharp Objects,” “Nine Perfect Strangers,” and most recently “The Dropout.”

DAMIEN SMITH<a href="https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1819514" title="https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1819514" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1819514</a>Editor (101, 104, 106)Damien Smith studied TV &amp; film production at Cal State University Fullerton where he graduated top of his class and won Best Avant-Garde Film titled “Breathe” and Best Picture titled “How Beautiful” at the CSUF TV-FILM Society Awards. In 2002, after graduating, he went on to work for Soundelux with Oscar winner Lon Bender as a foley artist on several hit films, including “Blood Diamond” and “Rumor Has It.” Smith continued his work in episodic sound editing working on shows such as “Newsroom,” “Little Fires Everywhere” and “Daisy Jones and the Six,” and in 2018 and 2019 was nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Sound Editing on “Ballers.”Having a passion for both sound and picture editing, he went on to pursue his craft as a film editor, landing spots working on shows such as “Daredevil” (2016) and “Designated Survivor” (2017-2020). His most recent editing collaborations include David Ayer on the pilot “Deputy” (2020), Bart Nickerson and Ashley Lyle “Yellowjackets” (2021), and Doug Lyman and showrunner Alexi Hawley on the pilot “The Recruit” (2022).
