<h3>July's meet-up is a rare and valuable opportunity for an insight into the working lives of three Sheffield-based illustrators. We'll be hearing about what useful gems have helped launch their career and how they go about finding inspiration and create their artwork.</h3> All illustrators welcome, whether you’ve been before or not. We’re a friendly bunch! This month we have <a href="https://www.instagram.com/emclemmie" title="https://www.instagram.com/emclemmie" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Emma Clements</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/mikemorrell_illustration" title="https://www.instagram.com/mikemorrell_illustration" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Mike Morrell</a> and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/hannahlockillustration/" title="https://hannahlock.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hannah Lock</a>. Emma Clements is an emotional/narrative illustrator, and will be discussing being part of AOI mentorship and other opportunities that have helped launch her career as a picture book illustrator focusing on the representation of disabilities and more. Mike Morrell will be talking about observational drawing and finding illustration inspiration from being out and about. <blockquote>"I'm passionate about drawing and find inspiration from the world around me. Whether it's a striking image while climbing or intriguing sights during a local walk, I'm always thinking about the next image I can make!"</blockquote> Hannah Lock is a freelance illustrator from West Yorkshire, and is currently based in Sheffield. She studied at the Cambridge School of Art, and works traditionally with coloured pencils and bold mark-making. She has worked for clients such as Mother Jones, the New York Times, the Brontë Parsonage Museum, WeTransfer and others. She will be discussing her journey to find her current working style, her editorial work and how to get started. Spaces are limited and go fast so book now to secure your free spot through Eventbrite. One booking per illustrator. Feel more at ease by arriving a little early - the organisers Kim, Adam and Amelia will be there from 6:40pm. Our meet-ups are about community and fun.
