<h3>Sustainability for a Greener World</h3> Destination STEM is excited to be exploring the world of sustainability through the knowledge and expertise of those seeking to effect change and make a difference. Through a series of videos, live webinars, articles, ideas, practical activities and opportunities, young people aged 11-18 in UK based education and their educators can expand knowledge, question the world around them and seek to find ways that they too could make a difference.Collaborating with a wealth of organisations and individuals Destination STEM has created a fascinating collection that explores sustainability, what it means and how scientific research and industry are tackling climate change, reducing carbon emissions and finding solutions to very real problems.

Event scheduleSustainability for a Greener World has a daily theme broadly exploring some key topics: <ul><li>Monday 01 Sustainable Environment – civil engineering a more sustainable world / understanding the nature of nature / eat bugs! / STEM Club activity - cleaning our oceans</li><li>Tuesday 02 Sustainable Engineering: space sustainability: keeping our orbits safe and secure / protecting our planet through engineering / reduce food waste via space technology and thermal engineering / Protecting our Planet: STEM clubs hour</li><li>Wednesday 03 Sustainable Technology – how to create a more sustainable future / chemical looping: the climate avenger / from pit to plate: the story of technology, polyhaylite ore, fertiliser and farmers</li><li>Thursday 04 Sustainable Energy - designing ocean wind farms / driving the future: the rise of electric truck / DREAM - demo of renewable energy assests monitoring / electrifying our railway lines</li><li>Friday 05 Sustainable Economy - building effective and sustainable drainage systems / compassion in economics: illuminating the path to a sustainable future / time for climate action</li></ul>Each day follows a set schedule08.45: daily introduction (video)09.30: first session - video / live webinar11.00: second session - video/live webinar13.00: third session - video / live webinar15.00: fourth session - video / live webinar/ practical activityOn Friday the week closes following the live webinar Time for Climate Action which starts at 13.00.General informationAn event resource booklet has been created and will be made available to the main contact who will be able to download it for free. The activity resource contains all of the links to the recorded content and the Teams link to live webinars. The resource includes full details about the scheuled sessions, links to futher information, suggested articles and activities etc.

Booking InformationAll tickets cover the entire week and are FREE, select the option that fits your participation. Live webinar access can only be supplied to the main contact booking a ticket. Destination STEM Week is open to all UK schools, colleges, sixth form centres and universities. Content is suitable for young people aged 11-18 in UK education.Teachers and Educators: These tickets are for UK based schools and colleges only. If you are a teacher / educator / lecturer in a UK based education establishment please select the Schools and Colleges Ticket. Complete the details requested, you do not need to purchase individual tickets for your students.Students - If you are aged 14 -18, are in a UK school, Sixth Form or FE College then you can book a ticket on your own behalf. Select the ticket for individual students and provide the information requested. Tickets for this category are limited.Community Groups / Home Educators / Parents - UK Community groups such as Scouts, Girl Guides, youth groups, parents, home educators etc. Should select the Community Group ticket and provide the information requested. Tickets for this category are limited.We are very sorry but the event is not suitable for non-UK based participants. Due to the limited number of tickets available, priority will be given to UK based schools and their students.
