Inside Out programme of free walks during August

Wonderful Westminster - a cultural treasure trove!  Come on a free walk with a friendly, qualified City of Westminster guide during the “Inside Out” Programme in August 2024.  There is a huge range of walks to choose from, so something for everyone!

This 2 hour walk introduces some well-known - and lesser-known - Westminster places and people - as well as their natural habitat.If you’re looking for a fun, quirky and engaging walk to find out more about Westminster’s rich, diverse history, then this is for you. This walk will include some of the major sights including two Royal Parks, Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace and Horse Guards Parade, but also some of the less well-known ones such as the island where pelicans sleep at night, the spot where Henry VIII married Anne Boleyn, and even where to find the birthplace of the world’s first traffic lights.Did you know that the Royal Parks are some of the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visitors every year? This walk will also be an opportunity to learn more about them and some of the conservation projects to help protect the biodiverse wildlife and habitats that are so crucial to making London one of the greenest cities in the world.This walk is led by a qualified City of Westminster guide, Susan Austin.
