Inside Out programme of free walks during August

Wonderful Westminster - a cultural treasure trove!  Come on a free walk with a friendly, qualified City of Westminster guide during the “Inside Out” Programme in August 2024.  There is a huge range of walks to choose from, so something for everyone!

This tour looks at the 19th Century and some of literatures most gothic creations. We visit the Royal Institution that inspired Mary Shelley’s Dr Frankenstein, the library from which Count Dracula arose and the surgeon’s Soho home that shaped Dr Jekyll.We talk about the scientists such as Ada Lovelace and Charles Darwin that lived and worked in this amazing part of Westminster. But we also look at the more sinister side of science and its impact when we visit the Linnean Society.If you love Lord Byron, are Wild about Wilde, or just interested in Newton this could be your tour.This walk is led by a qualified City of Westminster guide, Dr Stephen King.
