TVAMWith a special connection to St Helens Library Service, we are proud to present TVAM (Joe Oxley) as joint headliner for the Carnival of Creativity. Expect epic shoegaze, riff heavy dream-pop, icy synth-wave &amp; otherworldly projected visuals.Joining us direct from SOLFEST 2024, TVAM’s sound has been described as a ‘post-internet’ mix of the abrasive punk &amp; drifting electronic ambience that transports you into a nostalgic dreamworld. Their viral hit Porsche Majeure recently featured in the HBO’s smash-hit Succession; their debut album Psychic Data was featured as BBC Radio 6’s Album of the Day.Since the release of their second album High Art Lite, TVAM have toured nationally to critical acclaim. Carnival of CreativityThis is the closing event as part of St Helens Arts in Libraries Carnival of Creativity, an unforgettable day of excitement and creativity in St Helens town centre AccessibilityPlease contact us to advise us of any specific access requirements that you may have. The Assembly Room is accessed either by 20 steps through the main entrance, or via a level access route directly off Victoria Square and using the passenger lift to the first floor. This is a standing gig. We will provide a viewing area for wheelchair users - please advise us that you require this at booking so that we can reserve a space.We will provide some limited seating at the rear of the venue and in the foyer that will be available if you find it difficult to stand for long periods. Toilets, including an accessible toilet will be available to ticket holders during the event. If you require BSL interpretation, please get in touch. Contact us on artsservice@sthelens.gov.uk for further information. Event rules <ol><li>Bag searches are a condition of entry to the venue. This is at the discretion of the organisers and security staff.</li><li>We reserve the right to prohibit certain items within the venue. Prohibited items include (without limitation): Food and drink; Professional recording equipment; Any items which are or may be illegal including weapons, fireworks, ammunition, drugs and other controlled substances; Large bags or umbrellas; Any other items which we believe may cause danger or disruption at an Event (regardless of whether or not they are illegal or carried for a specific purpose).</li><li>Please act responsibly and be considerate to other visitors, giving them time and space where possible to move around the venue, understanding that some people may have different requirements to your own.</li><li>Children aged 13 and under are not admitted. Young people aged 14-16 must be accompanied by an adult.</li><li>St Helens Council Arts in Libraries reserves the right, at its absolute discretion, to refuse admission to any person and/or to eject any person from the venue if it considers that person’s behaviour or conduct is causing, or is likely to cause (without limitation), damage; injury; nuisance; or distress to others: </li></ol> Smoking and VapingThe venue operates a strict no smoking policy which also includes the use of e-cigarettes/ vapes. Anyone found vaping on the premises will be escorted from the building by security. Ticket holders will be able to get a pass out/re-admission and can smoke/vape on Victoria Square, clear of the Town Hall entrances. Food and drinkPlease don’t bring food and drink with you. There will be a licensed bar open in the venue where you can purchase alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Drinking water will be available from the bar on request. The bar closing time will be displayed within the venue. When purchasing alcohol, you may be asked for proof of age. We support the “Challenge 25” scheme. We reserve the right to refuse to serve you alcohol if we consider that you are intoxicated or likely to become intoxicated if we serve you. Getting here Public transport:St Helens bus station and St Helens Central railway station are both a short walk from the Town Hall. By Bike:Bike Racks are available to the right of the town hall entrance on Victoria Square By Car:The nearest car park is Birchley Street (496 spaces), please check any pay and display rules as you arrive.
