Who can attend?

Class groups in Years 4-6 (8-11 years old) from primary schools in OX4, accompanied by a teacher and responsible adult (see your school policy for staffing ratios).

How many students can attend a session?

Will we be the only class attending a session?

Accepted Answer

A Curiosity Cube workshop accommodates 30 school students and  you will book a class place. This means you will be the only attendees in the Workshop. Please bring as many students as you can (up to 30) to your session. We reserve the right to cancel your booking if the number attending is too few.

Can we bring a mixed class? (e.g. Y4 and Y5)

Yes! you are welcome to bring students from different year groups (up to a maximum of 30 in one workshop).

Is there a risk assessment?

Yes! Once you have booked your tickets, we'll be in touch with information to help you plan your visit to the Curiosity Cube.

Where is the Curiosity Cube?

We are indebted to Greyfriars Catholic School, Cricket Road, Oxford, OX4 3DR, for hosting the Curiosity Cube.

Can we bring more than one class from our school?

Yes! You can book more than one session. The maximum capacity for a workshop is 30. Please note, we are aiming for as many schools as possible to enjoy the Curiosity Cube and reserve the right to amend/cancel a booking if we deem a school has booked to excess.

Do we need to bring anything with us? e.g. notebooks, pencil cases

No, the Curiosity Cube has everything needed for the workshop. Just come and enjoy!

Is there a cost for the workshop?

No! The workshops are free.

Question 11

Is the Curiosity Cube accessible?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it is. We welcome students with accessibilty requirements. Please do let us know in advance.

Can students with SEN attend?

Yes! Please let us know in advance about particular needs so that we can ensure we have made appropriate accommodations.

Question 13

Is there any preparatory work required?

We will send you limited material to help you prepare your class for the workshop and would strongly recommend this is completed in advance of your visit.

Is there a waiting list?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We will operate a waiting list for the Curiosity Cube. Priority will be given to schools on the waiting list for other suitable activities offered by the Department of Chemistry and for the Curiosity Cube should it return in 2025.
