York TUC and York City Unison host a panel meeting for York Environment Week on divestment as part of the fight to save the planet.

This meeting hosted by York City Unison and York Trades Council will hear from trade unionists and campigners active in the movement to divest our pensions from fossil fuel industries and their backers.Speakers -Jane Thewlis - "I am a retired social worker. I worked for Bradford council most of my working life. I am (and have been for many years) a member of the Labour Party, UNISON and West Yorkshire Pension Fund. For the last 9 years I have volunteered with Fossil Free West Yorkshire who are calling for West Yorkshire Pension Fund to divest from fossil fuels as strong climate action and financial prudence.
