We are The Conservation Volunteers.We bring people together to create, improve and care for green spaces. From local parks and community gardens to Local Nature Reserves and Sites of Special Scientific Interest; from school grounds and hospital grounds to waterways, wetlands and woodlands; we connect people to the green spaces that form a vital part of any healthy, happy community.Our team of dedicated, passionate staff and volunteers work with communities across England, Northern Ireland and Scotland and, through our Community Network, we support local community groups across the UK.

<h3>About the Activity</h3> Are you a bug-fanatic or butterfly expert? Do you love using binoculars? Do you know which tree to find acorns on?Come and have a go at being an ecologist for the day, by helping us to count the things that live and grow in the woods. We'll be bird-spotting in the treetops, looking under logs and matching trees to their leaves! <h3>Important Information</h3>Adults must attend with the children, and be responsible for them at all times - you must stick together for the whole activity!This is for the allocated timeslot 11-12 (more spaces are available at a separate event page from 10-11)Activities are free for everyone, though spaces are limited to minimise disruption to the woodland habitat.Our activities are designed to take place outdoors, so wrap up warm.Please let us know if you are unable to make it so we can offer the space to others.There may be drop-in spaces available on the day. <h3>Getting here</h3>Railway Fields is situated at 381 Green Lanes (N4 1ES) on the section between Manor House and Turnpike Lane tube stations. We are opposite Harringay Green Lanes Station. The nearest tube is Manor House on the Piccadilly line. Nearest rail stations are Harringay Green Lanes Station and Harringay Station. Several buses run past the gates, including numbers 29, 341 and 141. There is no car parking on site, however 2hr parking is available in nearby Arena Shopping Park. You can’t miss the large wrought iron metal gates decorated with animals. On arrival, walk up the cobbled drive until you reach the wooden cabin where we will be!Railway Fields Nature Reserve.
