About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Seven Barrows is a BBOWT Nature Reserve with nationally important archaeological features, as well as a rich wildlife. Crogs Hill is an area of private grassland that the landowner has given us special permission to visit today.

We will explore the ancient and atmospheric ‘barrows’ area, looking for spring butterflies and day-flying moths. If we don’t find Small Blue and Dingy Skipper here, we will drive along the road and visit Crogs Hill and try to find them there. There will also be a chance of finding the scarce Duke of Burgundy at this site.

Accessibility & risks: flat, firm, uneven in places. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)

Meet by Reserve car park, north of Lambourn (the track can be muddy and uneven).
