Lelia Duley has 15 years’ experience of living with CLL, which includes having FCR, and participating in the CLARITY trial (a single arm study of ibrutinib plus venetoclax). She is an Associate with CLL Support.

After clinical training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, she spent most of her career as a clinical researcher working on multicentre randomised trials and systematic reviews across a range of specialities. Since retirement she has been a patient advocate within the research team for several clinical trials for people with CLL, including FLAIR, and STATIC. She has a long-standing commitment to public involvement in research.

John Greensmyth is a person with CLL who was diagnosed in 1990 - during a blood test as part of an annual medical - and has been heavily treated using all the typical chemo agents and an autologous stem cell transplant in 1997. Ibrutinib and Venetoclax finish off his unenviable list of treatments. John has been a Trustee with CLL Support since 2019 and is passionate about having the ‘patient voice’ heard wherever possible. He is an active cyclist and believes that given the right circumstances it is possible to Live Well with CLL
