A deep dive into Decentralized Exchanges

The Web3 Foundation nurtures and stewards technologies and applications in the fields of decentralized web software protocols, particularly those which utilize modern cryptographic methods to safeguard decentralization, to the benefit and for the stability of the Web3 ecosystem.

As cryptocurrencies continue to gain ground in technological and financial centers, mass adoption has ceased to be merely a vision and is now taking place.
Digital asset featuring financial exchanges are now experiencing the largest transaction volumes in their histories. However, with great power comes great responsibility: some of them are (or have been) in the spotlight due to potential issues of risk or vulnerability.
This is where Decentralized Exchanges, or DEXs, as we like to call them, come in play. Unlike centralized exchanges, DEXs don’t rely on third party services to hold user funds, and trades on a DEX are performed between users (P2P) through automated processes. There are many advantages to a DEX that can change the world of trading and asset management, and the Web3 Foundation has gathered the most outstanding projects in the current Ecosystem for a private workshop to discuss these ideas.
The day after the workshop, these teams will gather again at Factory Mitte for a community meetup, where each group will present an overview of their project, and a more detailed presentartion on different topics, functionalities and viewpoints belonging to the DEX galaxy.
