Who will lead thee tour?

Local folklorist & historian Beverley Rogers will be your guide around the beautiful Oystermouth Cemetery in The Mumbles.Bev is an experienced walking guide & has a Masters in Death, Religion and Culture where, for her final thesis, she specialised in Welsh death and burial customs .

Where is the meeting point?

Accepted Answer

Enter via the entrance on Newton Road (opposite Underhill Park). Drive or walk up the road to the cemetery and meet near the chapel. Bev will meet you on the green in front of the chapel. Please arrive 10 minutes before the walk begins for registration.

Question 3

What is the walking level?

Accepted Answer

The walking is relatively easy but there is a little exertion over uneven ground to reach some graves (optional) and some steps to climb.

Question 4

What shall I wear?

Please wear shoes with a good grip (no flipflops please) and be prepared for the weather conditions! We suggested that you also bring along a water bottle/refreshments.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are very welcome on short leads.

What is the fee for the tour?

Whilst there is no fixed fee for the tour, we do ask for a donation to cover the insurance and time of the leaders. A minimum donation of £7.50 is suggested.

Don I have to book beforehand?

Yes.Booking must be pre-arranged with the tour guide as there is a maximum number of  people allowed per walk.

Question 8

What do I also need to be aware of re health and safety?

The walking route is designed to take into account health & safety aspects, however if any individual insists on overriding the advice of the tour guide, they do so under their own risk.

Any Medical conditioons we need to be aware of?

Bev is an Emergency Response First Aider. If there is anything you feel she needs to know about a medical condition that may affect the participants conducting the walk, please let her know in advance.
