Grow is an independent and grassroots cultural space with international impact, based in Hackney Wick. Since 2014, our aim is to remove financial barriers to extend opportunities to enjoy a creative and nurturing environment whilst exploring ecological and social sustainability. Grow spans genres and celebrates diverse culture from around the globe to down the road. The venue includes a busy bar, kitchen, indoor and outdoor areas from which people enjoy good food, drinks and cultural and community events.Find us at Grow, 98C Main Yard, Wallis Road, Hackney Wick, E9 5LN. Just two minutes walk from Hackney Wick Overground and 15 mins walk from Stratford.

A Guy Called Gerald is 25+ years of dance music incarnate. From “Voodoo Ray” in 1988 to “Tronic Jazz” released on Germany’s respected Laboratory Instinct label in 2010, this man is a self-written bible of dance music. He was the first UK acid house producer and achieved the rare feat of having not one but two instrumental dance tracks in the UK charts at the same time. He formed 808 State with a drum machine, a 303, 2 Roland SH101s and two other humans. Over the course of his career, Gerald has collaborated with everyone from Frankie Knuckles and Goldie through to Derrick May and Herbie Hancock. His remix credits are equally impressive with reworks in his back catalogue for David Bowie, Lamb, Stone Roses, Can, Tricky and Roman Flügel as well as having toured with the likes of New Order and Bebel Gilberto.The early part of this event will be outdoors and the latter part will be indoors.Entry £5 after 8pm, there are no advance bookings for this event.Please read our FAQs before booking
