A Line Which Forms a Volume 9
MA Graphic Media Design is excited to invite you to the symposium and launch of A Line Which Forms a Volume 9.
The event, hosted by MA Graphic Media Design, introduces the new issue of A Line Which Forms a Volume, an annual critical reader of graphic design-led research authored, edited, designed and published by the course participants.
Bringing together contributions from Alex Balgiu and Press Create Act (Emma Brigl, Junghyeok Park) and James Langdon, ALWFAV 9 symposium will take place at Staffordshire Street Gallery on February 13th at 7:00pm. (Doors opens at 6:45pm)
In the ninth issue of A Line Which Forms A Volume, research through graphic design becomes a practice of deconstructing utilitarian designs of time, unearthing non‑human temporalities and their layered textures. Internally, participants from MA Graphic Media Design – London College of Communication, University of the Arts London – meditate on and through living-time, inviting you to attune to the quiet resilience of non-human lives; to experience the subtle ways humans share moments and spaces with them, consciously or not. Externally, we engage in conversations and workshops with researchers and practitioners in the field of visual communication, discussing diverse explorations of time in practice and in form.
The event is free and open to all. If you wish to attend, please book a ticket, as the venue has limited capacity.
We look forward to seeing you to celebrate the launch of the new volume and the exciting lineup of speakers at the symposium.
