About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Ages 18+

Anxiety levels and struggles with mental health are on the rise in children and young people. But there are ways that you can make a difference and help your children build more resilience and take steps towards healthier mental wellbeing.

A Mind of Their Own is packed with simple and effective strategies for you to use at home, helping you to better understand what’s going on in your child’s head.

Together with Katharine Hill and Mark Chester, featuring interviews with mental health professionals, Dr Rob Waller and Dr Kate Middleton, we’ll explore the science of the mind, and why children act and react the way they do.

You’ll leave with:

  • A greater understanding of the pressures affecting your child and the impact this can have on their mental wellbeing
  • Tools to help your child build resilience that enables them to bounce back from challenges, grow in emotional strength and move forward in their character development
  • Ways to talk to your child about positive body image
  • An appreciation of how vital your child’s identity is and strategies to help them become confident in it
  • Tips to help your child learn to deal with failure and criticism well
  • The knowledge that negative thought patterns can be rewired to become more positive

What to expect ...

At Care for the Family, we have a dedicated team of people working hard to make sure all our events are high quality, professional and the best they can be.

This event is well-researched, well-rehearsed, well-presented.

Most importantly, it will be worth your time.

Our speakers might know the research and have a breadth of knowledge on the subject, but mainly they’re parents and not perfect ones!

We can’t promise that this evening will make you the world's best parent, but we can promise to lift you up and encourage you on your parenting journey.
