The members of TEPICC invite TEPs and Newly Qualified EPs to join us for our first event of 2022  with Guest Speaker Dr Ellie Sakata.

Educational psychologists (EPs) work with children and young people, their families, and professionals from a variety of cultural backgrounds. EPs are responsible for engaging in, and developing, Culturally Responsive Practice (CRP). This is an ongoing process which is both intrapersonal and interpersonal; this will ensure the best possible outcomes for their culturally diverse clients. Ellies thesis aimed to explore and address the lack of research regarding how EPs take culture into account in their work. She recently developed a framework that can be used by EPs to evaluate the extent to which they are culturally responsive in their practice. 



In this event, we are excited to have Dr Ellie Sakata, a newly qualified Educational Psychologist introducing her new CRP framework. There will also be a chance to ask Elie questions about her framework and having the opportunity to discuss and reflect on the framework in relation to casework.
