Nicola Peel

There is so much doom and gloom in the world and rather than just being an environmentalist I have decided instead to be a solutionist.For 20 years I have worked in the Amazon initiating a number of environmental and social projects.I will speak about and show photos of the rainwater systems I build for local communities currently drinking contaminated water and an agroforestry project I initiated with Rainforest Saver. Our mission is to prevent deforestation, improve agricultural yield, reduce the need for pesticides and fungicides and alleviate poverty.We have been having remarkable results with a system of agroforestry called inga alley cropping.I was also invited out to 3 indigenous communities to share this information and partake in their annual chonta festival. As the only non native it was an honor to be there and see their beautiful traditional dress and performances.As Joan Baez once stated &quot;Action is the Antidote to Despair&quot; Never think once person cant make a difference and if you need to be inspired I hope this talk will do that.
