As part of the Artist Development programme, for visual artists living or working in the SO postcode area, ‘a space’ arts invites you to our first Artist Funding Workshop, an annual event providing information and advice about funding for artistic projects.We hope that the event will help attendees to:- Build their understanding of how to develop and manage a funded project- Develop greater knowledge of different sources of funding available- Feel more confident about applying for funding, when to apply and what work is involved- Meet funders and ask questions- Grow collaborative and supportive relationships with other artists who are designing and running projects in the SO postcode area.Plan for the day10:00Artist Panel Artists Jeannie Driver, sarah filmer and Kye Wilson share their experiences of making funding applications and running funded projects, including Arts Council Project Grant and Developing Your Creative Practice funds, Crowd Funding and a-n bursaries.	11.30Funder presentations- Ceri Johnson, Relationship Manager, Arts Council England- Kelly Best, Artist Adviser, Jerwood Arts- Overview of visual arts and local funding opportunities including a-n bursaries, GO Southampton, and Southampton City Council’s Events and Festivals Fund.13.00Break for refreshmentsHot drinks and a selection of vegetarian and vegan snacks will be provided. By bike: Southampton has designated cycle paths and routes around the city. There are bike racks outside the Platform Tavern pub, The Old Bowling Green, and at the back of GHT on Winkle Street. Bikes are available to hire throughout the city via Yo Bike, a dockless bike sharing system. By bus: The following Bluestar buses stop at Town Quay:U1 – connects Airport Parkway Station, Highfield Interchange, the City Centre and Town Quay.U6 – connects the General Hospital, Highfield Interchange, the City Centre and Town Quay.Quayconnect – connects Southampton Central Station, Asda Store, West Quay and Town QuayThe First bus no.3 stops at Friary House, a short walk from GHT. It connects with Thornhill, Sholing, Woolston, Shirley, Millbrook and Lordshill.By train: The nearest train station is Southampton Central which is one mile from God’s House Tower, a seven minute bus journey or a 20 minute walk.Woolston Station is 1.3 miles away, a 14 minute bus journey or a 30 minute walk.By car: our postcode is SO14 2NY. Nearest parking is at Gloucester Square car park, on Lower Canal Walk, or at Mayflower Park.M3: At junction 13, Use the left 2 lanes to exit towards So’ton Docks/Bournemouth. Merge onto M27. At junction 3, Use the left 2 lanes to take the M271 (S) exit to Southampton/Docks. Take the exit for A33 from M271. Follow A33 to Town Quay. M27: At junction 8, take the A3024 exit to Southampton/East Docks/Hamble. Continue on A3024.
