Become a confident, competent workplace first aider through a blended programme!

Across the two face-to-face days, you’ll cover the role and responsibilities of the first aider, incident and casualty assessment (including scene survey and primary survey), and how to respond to a wide range of emergencies.

Core emergency skills (practical focus):

  • CPR and safe use of an AED
  • Managing an unresponsive casualty (breathing and not breathing normally)
  • Choking (recognition and treatment)
  • Wounds, bleeding, and shock
  • Seizures - plus broader unconscious casualty care

Additional workplace first aid topics include:

  • Poisons, asthma (including hyperventilation), anaphylaxis (with practical assessment)
  • Chest injuries, heart attack (including angina), stroke
  • Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains (including support and elevated slings - practical assessment)
  • Head, neck, back and spinal injuries (including Manual Inline Stabilisation - practical assessment)
  • Epilepsy, diabetes, eye injuries, burns and scalds
