This is an event that will bring together young people, parents, educators, healthcare workers, activists and other members of the public to create a community that is able to resist the harms of the Prevent counter-terrorism strategy and working towards abolishing Prevent in its entirety.
Prevent has long been proven to stifle freedom of speech and expression, make communities suspicious of each other and pull children into the policing system for no reason. At this event, we will share resources on how to understand the harms of Prevent and demand an end to it in our education, health care and communities.
We will look at what our legal rights are, how to build resistance against Prevent and how to challenge the illegal sharing of our data.We will create a community that collectively builds alternatives to keep each other safe while resisting repressive laws and policies.
