Event description
Abolitionist Reading & Discussion Group - to inform collective strategy and abolitionist movement-building

About this Event

There has been a huge uptake in interest in abolitionist principles as we see abolition enter mainstream conversation. Particularly in response to the killing by police of George Floyd, global solidarity and protests of Black Lives Matter and the violent police responses to these.

Everyone is welcome to join the reading groups, we particularly welcome back those who have attended previous ones. We have updated and added more UK based readings to the reading list.

Let’s come together in imagining a world that prioritise community, safety and health, over policing and punishment.

This movement is building - let's image together the world we want.

We recognise that these discussions can be difficult—either triggering our traumatic experiences or challenging long-held beliefs. As facilitators, we commit to being in the struggle together, providing support and guidance through these moments.
