Abstract Narrative

Fred Aldousltd began in Manchester in 1886 with a man called Fred who had a bright idea and a cracking beard. Working in a cotton mill he noticed that the cotton was being transported in baskets. This gave him the idea for a business – he would import the cane to make them. We’ve grown over the last 125 years but we still do what Fred started – supplying materials to people who make things. We started off with just three products, now we stock more than 25,000 and sell to customers all over the world.

Fred Aldous Ltd

John Powell-Jones is an audio visual artist whose work draws on his knowledge and experience of printmaking underpinned by humour and rich imagery from a variety of influences.
He will lead a series of photobooth comic book strip workshops inspired by the characters in his practice. Using imagery within his work, John will create masks and props for you to create a four frame comic strip.
John will provide you with a Risograph booklet to storyboard your narrative drawing inspiration from his work and the characters he creates. 
You will then the step into the time restrictive environment of the photobooth, which will undoubtedly add spontaneity and humour, to create your photobooth comic strip.
