ACT Argyll - Virtual Learning Exchange
Event Information
About this Event
Argyll and the Isles Coast and Countryside Trust (ACT) exist to maintain and promote the natural landscape of Argyll and the Isles, and enable residents, businesses, and visitors to benefit from the great outdoors.
ACT run a range of projects covering conservation, community development, health and wellbeing, and outdoor learning. ACT delivers grant funded projects and also have a social enterprise for income generating projects.
During lockdown, their operations had to change, but two current projects managed to emerge in spite of lockdown. Julie Young, ACT Development Manager and Sara Maclean, ACT Senior Project Officer will take us through the challenges and successes of their new projects: MAKI Pups, and ACT Now.
MAKI Pups is ACT’s first outdoor nursery, in Kilmory Walled Garden in Lochgilphead, and ACT Now is new project launched to help communities adopt strategies to tackle climate change. Join this learning exchange to hear more about how our charity has adapted to remote working, and how these changes are built into our plans going forward.
This series of virtual learning exchanges is funded by Scottish Community Alliance, and supported by Inspiralba and the Rural Social Enterprise Hub.
The format of this event will consist of a 10-15 minute presentation given by the host, then opening up to a Q&A, and general discussion, which will involve everyone in the audience.
This session will be hosted on Zoom, and a meeting invitation with the Zoom link will be sent to the email account you signed up with, the day before the session.
We encourage you to sign up to the Rural Social Enterprise Hub, which is home to Scotland's Rural SEN, learning resources, and our global directory of social and community enterprises.
The Hub is also where you will be able to find future updates and information on upcoming learning exchanges and similar projects.
