ACTING CLASS

Ironclad was created in 2020 as a place for writers, artists and theatre-makers to find each other, learn about the business of making art, and develop their skills.Founded by producer and writer couple Michelle Allen and Andrew Allen, after running the Cast Iron Theatre company for over seven years, Ironclad’s mission is to support, signpost and provide spaces where people can build community, write, make, discuss and learn.We know how hard it is to make connections, network and learn about how to get paid for what you do.We want to support all people and are especially interested in making sure that our work reaches people who currently have low incomes, or come from low income backgrounds.We’re also neurodivergent and know that being creative and neurodivergent adds additional complexities and barriers to networking, making and putting your work into the world.We have a mix of free events and some have a cost - which we try to keep as low as possible.Members of our community - Creative Cauldron (£12 per month) get tons of our events for free - or at a 20% discount plus our own Discord server to chat to friends and peers on. ACTING CLASS in person Monthly Classes - Drop-in 7:30pm - 9:30pm £12 pre-book £15 on the door A monthly drop-in acting class in the heart of Brighton using a variety of acting exercises, improv techniques, and sharp, focused games aimed to hone your acting skills no matter if you&#x27;re experienced or just beginning. A positive and encouraging environment where you are given the confidence to create your own work through devising and play a whole range of characters using exciting scripts. About The Tutor - Andrew AllenAn award-winning actor, for his portrayal of Yvan in ART, Andrew has acted in drama, podcasts and digitally. His performance credits include: John Proctor - The Crucible, Isambard Kingdom Brunel - God’s Wonderful Railway, Jasper - Brighton’s Ghostwalk of the Lanes, Frank - Kvetch, and many short play roles. Andrew performs Black Watch Entertainment, Murder57 and YumTum. Andrew is one half of Ironclad Creative CIC. Trained in theatre-making and performance, he also writes, directs and facilitates creative training sessions with clients including Brighton Film School, British Heart Foundation and BBC Creative.
