Acting For Screen Workshop - Berkhamsted (Herts)
A new series! A beginners guide to acting for screen at D-Lab Studios, Berkhamsted
Join Georgia Kirkland, actress and short-film director for these one-off acting for screen workshops. Whether you’re new to the world of screen acting or you are looking for a confident boost for your next audition, this class is for you! In this friendly and insightful session, you will:
● Be given a chance to perform a scene on camera
● Receive a copy of your scenes
● Be given industry feedback to help build your confidence
● Get to know the group with a few warm up games
All scripts will be sent out prior to the class for you to be familiar with. This is a low pressure class, with the aim being on building confidence within a supportive community. Georgia believes acting is a craft that should be enjoyed and is committed to cultivating a safe and fun culture in class. Classes will be capped at 12 people, to ensure everyone has enough time in front of the camera. Whatever level you may find yourself, you are so welcome in this session.
Georgia is an actress, writer and short-film director with a great passion for the film industry. Having originally trained at Kingston School of Art in Filmmaking and then later going to Identity School of Acting and The Stella Adler Art of Acting Studio in Los Angeles. Georgia has a passion for giving people confidence in front of the camera and has had the privilege of teaching in London studios for the last 2 years.
Her experience both behind and in front of the camera, provides her with a great insight and understanding about on screen performances. Georgia directed and produced GERASCO, a short fantastical film about childhood and imagination that went on to win best production design at Screentest Festival. Both GERASCO and her documentary NONNA & GORDON went on to screen both nationally and internationally at various film festivals. In addition to directing, Georgia has experience working on high production sets in featured roles such as the new Disney Plus series SAY NOTHING, and HOUSE OF THE DRAGON. As well as working in the world of commercials and voiceover.
Georgia is thrilled to have recently become a member of Directors UK and is excited to begin development of various upcoming short film projects. Being someone that thrives working with actors and in creating a comfortable environment on set that benefits the performers, Georgia can’t wait to welcome you into the world of acting for screen.
