A conversation with Joon Lyn Goh and Kinsi Abdulleh on community organising and the arts.

This event will be live captioned.Activism is nothing unless it’s meaningfully tied to the communities it aims to serve. But how does that happen within an art context? Joon Lyn Goh and Kinsi Abdulleh, both organisers and arts workers, will be in conversation to look at their careers and approaches, and discuss co-option and activation in the arts and beyond.___Joon Lynn Goh is a cultural organiser, working across art and culture, migrant movements and solidarity economies, to explore creative shifts from extractive to regenerative ways of living. Joon Lynn is founding organiser of Migrants in Culture, a network organising for culture without borders, co-founder of Asia Art Activism, a research network for Asian diasporic practitioners, and Sex With Cancer, cancer patient led inquiry into illness and intimacy. Joon Lynn is a recipient of Champion of the Year, Women on the Move Award 2016, Live Art UK Diverse Actions Leadership Bursary 2017, and declined an MBE for Services to Equality 2019.Kinsi Abdulleh is an interdisciplinary artist, editor producer and publisher. Her work as an artist educator is rooted in social justice, women’s voices and histories.
