Overview

Join us to explore ADHD and executive function, designed to challenge common misconceptions and offer a new, more meaningful understanding.

ADHD & Executive Function

ADHD is often misunderstood.

It is not simply a problem of attention or effort — it is a difference in how the brain manages executive function: the skills that help us plan, organise, regulate emotions and follow through on tasks.

This session aims to change the narrative.

Rather than being a traditional lecture, this will be an interactive experience, giving you the opportunity to explore your own understanding, challenge assumptions and see ADHD from a new perspective.

What You’ll Experience

During the session, you will:

  • Take part in interactive discussions about what ADHD and executive function mean
  • Explore common misconceptions in a safe, non-judgemental space
  • Learn how ADHD relates to performance, not just knowledge
  • Gain insight into executive function and how it impacts everyday life
  • Experience practical demonstrations and activities showing how ADHD can affect memory, attention, time perception and task completion
  • Understand emotional experiences such as rejection sensitivity and why they may occur
  • Gain awareness of wider influences, including biological factors such as hormones

This event marks the launch of Lily of the Valley, a coaching, education and healthcare service focused on supporting individuals, families and organisations to better understand neurodiversity.
