Procrastination is a common and often frustrating difficulty for people with ADHD, but it is frequently misunderstood as laziness, poor motivation or lack of willpower.

In this interactive two-hour workshop, Dr Anneka Tomlinson, Clinical Academic Psychiatrist specialising in ADHD, will explore why ADHD can make it particularly difficult to start, sustain and complete tasks. The session will look at the role of executive functioning, motivation and reward, emotional regulation, time perception, overwhelm and the powerful effect of urgency and deadlines.

The workshop will combine accessible science and clinical insights with practical exercises and opportunities for self-reflection. Participants will hopefully leave with a better understanding of their own procrastination and a personalised toolkit of strategies they can apply to work, study and everyday life.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Understand why procrastination is particularly common in ADHD
  • Unpack the link between motivation, reward and the ADHD brain
  • Recognise your own procrastination patterns and triggers
  • Learn practical, evidence-informed approaches to breaking the procrastination cycle

Seed Talks finds the best of the best, who not only make the sessions informative but super fun too, which is clear in how engaged everyone is in both the in-person and online talks - no small task for 100+ ADHD sufferers! And all for a fraction of the price of a coach! - Liv H.

It felt like a really great session with well rounded knowledge and it felt like a safe space with a safe speaker who genuinely cared and understood the shared experience. - Anon.
